Challenge Accepted

Before going to the beach one last time (hold on for a moment of silence for no more beach vacays this year...ok...we can proceed), I decided to take part in a challenge.  The challenge was the following:  Design an item, of your choice, that uses any PML card(s) for something other than just inserting them into the pocket pages as designed. You can incorporate them into a layout (use for a title, photo mat, etc.), a greeting card, or on some other piece of artwork.  I chose to make a mini album.  I didn't know how I wanted to go about it at first, but once I figured it out it took just a little while to put it all together.  Want this album to be yours?  Email or call me and I can tell you how!  I used Surf's Up PML.

Not sure why it says November 2010.  I am new to Picasa and I couldn't get it off or change it.

Picture My Life

Picture My Life has changed the way I scrapbook.  Don't get me wrong, I still absolutely love to create pages.  If you know (and love me) you know I LOVE to create pages and I don't actually care to find pictures to go on them (is abhor too strong a word?).  You would probaby be astonished to know that I have hundreds of layouts that don't have pictures on them.  I know, *GASP*, right?  It's a sickness, I am sure of it.  I need to find a 12 step program for my craziness.  Anyway, PML keeps me from doing that.  I get lots of pictures scrapped and JOURNALED.  Raise your hand if you don't like to journal (me! Me! ME!).  PML has these cute little cards that make you want to do a little journaling.  Seriously!  No, really...it's true.  Here are a few examples of my PML layouts.

I should also have a disclaimer here.  As most people do, I hate my handwriting.  PML forces me to WRITE.  I don't mind it so much anymore, because I realize that someday there will be a granddaughter or a great granddaughter that will get a little lump in her throat when she sees my handwriting long after I am gone.  Hopefully, anyway.

Title Page 2014

Being behind when you are a scrapper can sometimes make one a little crazy.  Especially if you are like me and like to be a chronological order scrapper.  I'm here to tell you that it is OK to scrap out of turn.  Just went on vacation and can't wait to get your hands on those new photos?  SCRAP them!  It's OK!  I promise you won't break out in hives.  You might twitch a little though.  Earlier this year I completed 2013 and you know what?  I don't have 2006-2012 completed.  I know, you are saying "WHAT?!!  How can this be??!!"  Yes, I did it.  Guess what else?  I started 2014 and I still don't have 2006-2012 done.  I'm learning to be ok with that.  If you knew me back in 2005 you know I stayed current...always.  Then...well, life happened and I started scrapping only what I felt like scrapping, like holidays.  Then, I would do only sports. All the while, hoping to get current, but I was not successful.  With the help of Picture My Life, I am hoping that I will be able to get those years completed sometime soon.  That is the beauty of PML (Picture My Life), you can get a ton of pages down WITH journaling in a short period of time.  When the new catalog comes out in 2.5 weeks you will be in AWE of the new PML collections.   Anyway, I digress...the 2014 Title Page is below.  I used Skylark reflections kit and complements.  I will be sad to see this kit go.  I do love it so.  Let's have a moment of silence at it's retirement in 2.5 weeks...............Good bye Skylark, we'll miss you.  While taking this picture, my layout got damaged when it fell.  It's time to get it in the page protector, so it will be protected from ME.

Beach Memories

I love the beach.  There I said it.  I love the sand between my toes.  I really don't even mind when I get back to where we are staying and find sand all in my beach bag, on my phone, in my ears...well, maybe I mind that.   We spent a week in Gulf Shores, AL with our best friends and my parents.  It was a fantastic vacation.  So, to remember this fantastic vacation I found this frame at HL, but everything else is CTMH.  I used the Picture My Life cards and stickease from the Surf's Up collection.  As much as I loved this collection from a few years ago, I am more excited about the new beachy theme items coming in the NEW and FABULOUS catalog that will be out August 1.  How is that for a teaser?  Stay tuned!
